Wormbox Supports Online Downloads By Re-Issuing
an Online Version of their Debut CD
Toronto, ON -- March 9, 2006 -- Wormbox is a Calgary based
metal band that formed in January 2004. The result: an incredible
mix of modern sound with old school elements, enough intensity to
satisfy anyone and everyone across the metal spectrum, yet accessible
enough to attract new fans to the genre - all this without selling
out!
Cyclone Records is pleased to announce that it is re-releasing Wormbox's
self-titled debut CD. This CD was named one of the Top Ten Canadian
Metal Releases of 2005 by MetalNetRadio's Dr. Steel.
Running With Scissors Magazine calls Wormbox's debut EP "an admirable
freshman effort. Fast, brutal riffs layered with intense vocals and
drums, are what makes... this six song EP a contender in the metal
circuit."
This will be a digital only re-issue through online retailers such
as iTunes, Napster, MSN Music, Yahoo Music, Audio Lunchbox, Live365,
Real Networks Rhapsody, Snocap, Sony Connect among others. The goal
is to broaden the scope of Wormbox's fanbase to the international
stage and to support the growing demand for legal online downloads.
Included on this re-issue is a special unreleased bonus track, "Whiplash",
that was written by request when the organizers of the Whiplash Open
Air Festival asked Wormbox to provide a theme song to be used for
radio and TV promo spots.
Wormboxalso appears in the upcoming Cyclone Records' release, "The
Greatest Underground Show on Earth", a collection of 14 songs
by 14 of Calgary, Alberta's best metal bands released on 28 February
2006.
