Moxy

There is perhaps no bigger legend in the history of Canadian hard rock than Toronto's MOXY. With over 30 years of delivering a blistering, explosive live show, MOXY has the distinction of being the only Canadian band to have AC/DC open for them on tour. In fact, upon the death of AC/DC's vocalist Bon Scott, Buzz Shearman was asked to step in to take his place. He declined out of respect for his friend. One can still hear the roar of vocalist Buzz Shearman, twenty years after a motorcycle accident tragically ended his life just north of Canada's biggest city. By fate or by chance, Texas has become the band's biggest market. To this day, Texas radio still samples from the band's four classic albums, three with Buzz Shearman, and one with a young Mike Reno, who would go on to major fame with LOVERBOY.

The current line up consists of original guitarist and principle songwriter Earl Johnson, Kim Hunt on drums and Jim Samson on bass guitar, known in the Toronto area as the best rhythm section since appearing in ZON thirty years ago. And now, in the latest chapter of Moxy history, in steps Russ Graham of the KILLER DWARFS. With this incredible combination of talent, we now have what could be called a Canadian 70's super band.

Buzz Shearman Back with New Moxy Single
Buzz Shearman Buzz Shearman was the voice and defining sound of Canadian rock band Moxy from 1975 to 1983 when he died tragically in a motorcycle accident just north of Toronto on June 16, 1983 at the age of 33. Now, in a surprising twist of fate, Buzz's voice is back loud and clear in a newly found and previously unreleased track called "You Can't Stop the Music in Me". Co-written with bandmate Billy Wade (who passed away in 2001 from cancer), and recorded in 1981 with his Moxy bandmates, this proves that Buzz's legend truly does live on! You can check it out and buy a copy here.
